Code of Conduct for Member Schools

Parents / Carers and Guests

Parents / Carers and Guests of Member Schools are required to abide by the provisions of this Code of Conduct and any subsequent updates as may be in force from time to time, and by their presence at WDPSSA events or activities are deemed to have accepted and to abide by the provisions of this Code and any other relevant Codes of Conduct, Rules or Regulations the Club has adopted.

All Parents / Carers and Guests of Member Schools will:

  • Do not force an unwilling child to participate in sport

  • Children should be involved in sport for their enjoyment, not yours!

  • Encourage your child to play by the rules

  • Teach your child that honest effort is as important as victory, so that the result of each game is accepted without undue disappointment

  • Turn defeat into victory by helping your child work towards skill improvement and good sportsmanship. Never ridicule or yell at your child for making a mistake or losing a game

  • Help winning teams to empathise with the losing team

  • Children learn best by example. Applaud good play by both sides

  • Do not question the referees or umpire’s decisions in any way

  • Remove all verbal and physical abuse from children’s sport

  • Recognise the value and importance of volunteer coaches and helpers. They give their time and resources freely for the benefit of your child
